Greathouse Butterfly Farm Presents
The 1st Annual Florida Monarch Festival
We Preserve What We Know
Come join the festivities as we celebrate the migratory wonder that is the Monarch butterfly. Against the backdrop of a working butterfly farm, dozens of vendors will be offering a myriad of arts, crafts and local food. An educational program with Monarch experts will inform attendees about the current state of the Monarch population and what we can do to improve our environment to enhance their population. A wide variety of butterfly plants will be available. Learn how you can have a certified Monarch garden in your yard. Tag and release a Monarch butterfly. Take home a chrysalis and hatch your own Monarch butterfly. Live music, face painting, bungee jump, bounce house, games, contests and a children’s program will make it a fun affair for the whole family.
The future of the Monarch butterfly should not be left to chance. We preserve what we know and, with a little help from humans, we can help create a world that is a little friendlier to this orange and black traveler. This special creature is worthy of our attention.
